Journal - Paper making in Nepal has taken place for over 2000 years. The Daphne Bush also known as Lokta is used in its production and is only found at an altitude of between 6500 ft and 9500 ft. Daphne is harvested every two to three years. By cutting its young stem a foot from the ground, the trees are kept alive and thus able to support and protect the ecological balance of the Himalayan range.
