Six hours walk from Jhapre to Lamuje. Beautiful scenery of the Himalayas while traipsing through rhododendron and pine forests. If it is clear, Numbur, the nearest peak, dominates the landscape here. After lunch we walk on an open ridge fringed with cedar until we reach Lhamuje. Sleep in a simple lodge at 3300m.
Day 7 - thursday Oct 25
Five hours walk from Lamuje to Pikey Base. Mostly flat, beautiful scenery including sights of yaks and naks (female yak). Lunch at Pikey and if there’s time and energy, we’ll climb up about an hour to Pikey Peak at 4100m. Views from Pikey Peak are said to be Edmund Hillary’s favorite in all of Nepal. From Pikey’s Peak you’ll see epic views of the Everest Himalayan Range including Thamsherku, Khangtega, Khatang, Karyoling, Numbur Himal, Mera, Gaurishanker and Dorje Lakpa. If we’re tired, we’ll climb to the peak in the morning. Either way, sleep at a simple lodge at base camp at 3800m.
Day 8 - friday oct 26
About three hours walk from Pikey base to Jase Bhangyang. There are two routes, one longer, one steeper and shorter, we’ll see how we feel and make a team decision. Sleep in a simple lodge at 2900m.
Day 9 - saturday oct 27
Jase Bhangyang to Junbesi. Possible rest day here depending on what we cover the previous two days. Junbesi is a nice little town where we can do laundry and explore villages. Sleep in a simple lodge at 2600m.

A longer day of six hours from Ringmo to Takhindu, but the walk is not too challenging. The morning begins with two hours of gentle uphill trekking to Takhindu La at 3000m then back down to Phaplu. A long, easy decline through farms and forest on a rarely used Jeep road. Take a glimpse at the anni gompa (nunnery) nearby. Sleep in a nice lodge in Phaplu at 2500m.
Day 12 - tuesday Oct 30
Fly from Phaplu to Kathmandu. Stay at a guesthouse in Thamel. Spend your first night back in the city taking the hottest shower you can imagine. Maybe do some laundry so you have a fresh outfit for the flight home. Drink a beer or three? Eat a cheesy pizza? Whatever.
Day 13 - Wednesday Oct 31
Souvenir shopping + Kathmandu chill time. If you're interested in doing something specific, maybe a trip to the monkey temple or historic Patan, Schu + Nawa can set it up for you. This day also acts as a buffer in case there is inclement weather for flights the day before.
Day 14 - thursday nov 1
Transportation to KTM airport + fly home.
